every once in a while i think about listening to rap again (because i dont anymore), but then im reminded why i dont; because rappers are idiots and they have a huge rub off effect on other people who dont have the luxury of good educaztion and influence and a god community to grow up in.

i dont know if ive told this story before. on the bus back from the niners seahawks game there was this drunk little spanish guy and his loudmouth girl. they were pissed at some seahawks fans, who werent paying any attention to them, and they were just spewing shit. they were all like click clakc nigga come round my hood ill put a bullet in ya dome. - when we got off the bus i was walkin by the seahawks fan, and i was like man i understand why you dont like san francisco...

now tell me those words and that attitude would have been there without rap. 'click clack' 'bullet in ya dome' 'gat' 'nigga' i've made my case before. its a terrible influence on people its awful. no one got shot, but it annoyed the shit out of me at least, and it easily couldve lead to a physical fight, and if the seahawks fans happened to be gully motherfuckers there couldve been knives and guns and all that good shit. people are stupid and rap takes full advantage of the suceptability of less proveleged societies, and in the case of athletes, just because im watching football, like tank jonson and pacman and vick, it gets people who have all the advantages in the world to be morons all that crap..

so nas is crap anyway, i dont care what he names his albums. i could care less about the use of the word nigger, the arguing over it is wasted time when we could all be respecting each others humanity and doing somethiong fucking useful. nas, if annything, is wasting our time in debate about the word, when we could be actually doing somehting good for humanity, especially because the debate is only between people who accept racism as bullshit.

i like what youre saying about hte nas album.

as far as rap is concerned, i dont plan on getting into another discussion about it (the last one was intense enough), but violence and slang existed before rap. commerical rap simply propagates it.

im not saying it makes people kill other people per se, but it encourages hate really for no reason other than violences sake.

and if violence and slang existed before rap, hating Jews existed before Hitler and the holocaust; the utilization of hateful and violent emotions is a dispicable thing whether it leads to the death of millions upon millions or whether it creates racial animosity and promotes a sense of pride in violence and hate in poor communities, as rap continues to do with black people in America - Nas is just bottling it all into one I guess, racism, violence (im sure), and im sure to add to his disrespect for humanity he'll be a glorious misoginist as well.

Regardless of the quibbling we could do over the actual effect rap has, I'd rather like to say that it can easily be understood to have a bad influence and if nothing else promotes misoginy and general disrespect for humanity, and leads to pointless discussion about race and even the effect that rap itself has on society; its bad. thats the bottom line. if we want to maximize the potential for a good, happy, whatever you see as a perfect socity, rap cannot be in it so long as it is in the state it's in because it always has to involve violence or the degradation of women. this has no place in a respectful and intelligent society. i wish i could listen to it still but its really that it disgusts me to much to listen to it now.
